This time last year, I was a careless consumer. There is no doubt about that.

I remember having a discussion with my mother about how chilly Melbourne was and how much I spent on heating (we have the most thrilling conversations!) and my mother was shocked by my bill. At the time, I wasn’t particularly concerned about the cost of keeping my feet warm while I worked from home.

“It’s not good for the environment though, you know?” she commented.
